Dhaka, 28 July 2026: Professor Dr. Selim Raihan, Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Dhaka and Executive Director of the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM), has joined the Board of Trustees of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) as a new member. He attended the 128th meeting of the TIB Board of Trustees held on 28 July 2026. Dr. Raihan will serve as a member of the Board for a three-year term.
Professor Raihan obtained his postgraduate degree from the University of Dhaka and his PhD from the University of Manchester, UK. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Development Network (GDN). He is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Manchester and an alumnus of Harvard University’s programme on “Cutting Edge of Development Thinking”.
The Board of Trustees is the highest policy-making body of TIB. The other members of the Board are noted human rights activist and founder of the floating hospital “Jibon Tari”, Monsur Ahmed Choudhuri, Chairperson; and The Daily Star Publisher and Editor Mahfuz Anam, Treasurer. Other members are Advocate Susmita Chakma, Philip Gain, Banasree Paul, Faruque Ahmed, Tahera Yasmin, and Barrister Manzoor Hasan.
