The event was titled 'Role of Parents in Enhancing Transparency, Accountability, and Quality Education Services'. It was a collaborative effort of Gaibandha’s Committee of Concerned Citizens (CCC), Active Citizens Group (ACG), and the host school.
The event participants included representatives of various government and non-government institutions alongside local residents, students, and ACG, CCC and Youth Engagement and Support (YES) members. They shared valuable insights and perspectives on enhancing the quality of education. They also underscored the practice of sincerity among parents, teachers, students and officials for fostering transparency and accountability. The programme culminated with an anti-corruption oath-taking ceremony, presided over by CCC President Prof. Zahurul Qayyum.
Furthermore, the YES Group in Gaibandha set up a satellite advice and information (AI) desk on the school premises. Representatives from various institutions, alongside local residents and students, received guidance from the desk on leveraging the Right to Information Act 2009 to access pertinent information.
