The Committee of Concerned Citizens (CCC) called for the strict implementation of relevant laws and policies to prevent plastic pollution. The demand was made at events organised to mark World Environment Day on 05 June 2023. CCC observed the day by organising a human chain, rally, discussion meeting, different competitions for youth, tree plantation, and many more.

Speakers at the events highlighted the harmful effects of plastic pollution on the environment and called for the avoidance of plastic use in daily life. They also emphasised the need for stronger implementation of relevant laws and policies to resist illegal production, marketing, and use of plastic in order to reduce plastic pollution.

CCC, Active Citizens Group (ACG), and Youth Engagement & Support (YES) members, along with representatives from various organisations, were also present at these events.
