Children’s Art Competition Celebrating the First National Health-Rights Convention

An art competition celebrating the first national health rights day was held in Bangladesh Sishu Academy participated by the children aged between seven to sixteen on the 15th June 2007.  Two hundred and seventy child artists of different schools participated in the competition titled Shundor Shastho Shundor Desh (Good Health Beautiful Country).The first national health rights convention was held on 14th -15th June in BIAM auditorium upholding the slogan ?Health is not an opportunity, it?s a right and it should be made available to everyone equally?. The competition was held as a part of the convention organized jointly by 53 organizations.

The little kids made beautiful effort to depict their health rights with brush and paint. Three most beautiful pictures in each section were given the ?Sreshtha Shundar Chitra? award and the next best twenty beautiful pictures were given the ?Uttam Shundar Chitra? award.

Artist Hashem Khan was the chief judge of the competition along with Moniruzzaman and Samina Nafis, Programme Officer of Shishu Academy. In the prize giving ceremony Hasem Khan thanked the children and asked to prepare themselves for building a beautiful country. The Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh put emphasis on developing merit and intellectuality of the children by such competition and affirmed his hope for a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.
